A group of experts from the US and UK in their report, published in Scientific Reports, said about a possible catastrophe that threatens the Earth in connection with a reduction in solar activity.
Experts said that in 30 years solar activity is greatly reduced, which significantly affect the Earth’s climate. Reducing activity will also affect the reduction of the heliosphere.
The heliosphere is the protective field, regulating the magnetic field of the Sun. Its reduction will lead to the penetration of high-energy charged particles into the Solar system. Modeling the situation, the researchers came to the conclusion that these particles can damage or even destroy the majority of large energy systems on Earth.
It should be understood that, despite the seriousness of the impending incident, the report does not say about the end of the world or disaster, capable of destroying life on Earth
