The remains of the animal were found in the Museum
In one of the museums of France paleontologists have discovered the remains of a previously unknown species of titanosaurs that lived in Europe about 160 million years ago and weighed an impressive 15 tons.
“Vouivria was omnivorous herbivorous dinosaurs that ate all the vegetation of that time, starting with the ferns and ending with the coniferous trees. At a time when they lived 160 million years ago, Europe was a collection of many large and small Islands. We don’t know what killed the creature, but it will help us to understand how did brahiozavry and their relatives from among titanosaurians,” — said Philip magnon from Imperial College London.
The scientist and his colleagues randomly discovered the remains of a large dinosaur who can claim the role of a “lost link” in the evolution of brachiosaurs, and titanosaurs – 15-meter, 15-ton lizard, whose bones they had found in one of the museums in the South of France.
This sauropod was named Vouivria damparisensis after a local version of the “Chupacabra” on behalf of “vuur”and Dampara village, where were found the remains of a lizard in 1934.
