The people’s Deputy Nadezhda Savchenko was sent to President Petro Poroshenko a petition to veto a law repealing the provisions of the “law Savchenko” (day in jail, two days in jail).
In Facebook, the Deputy posted a copy of the letter and wrote that, by abolishing “the law Savchenko”, the Verkhovna Rada has violated the Constitution.
“Namely: “When adopting new laws or amending existing laws shall not be diminished content and scope of existing rights and freedoms”,” – said Savchenko.
She also asked the Ombudsman to appeal in the constitutional court law adopted by the Parliament.
Recall, the Verkhovna Rada on may 18 passed a bill No. 5534, which is de-facto override the provisions of the “law Savchenko” (day in jail, two days in jail).
Some 10.2 thousand prisoners paroled from custody by the “law Savchenko”.
