Samsung presents curved smartphone in half

When folded, the phone is very reminiscent of the classic “clamshell”

At the exhibition Mobile World Congress (MWC), which will be held from 27 February to 2 March in Barcelona, Samsung will show some prototypes of Android smartphones with screens that can be folded in half.

According to Korean media, the presentation device will be held behind the closed the doors — the General public will not see them.

It is no secret that Samsung is developing a foldable smartphones. In 2013 at CES Koreans promised that gadgets with bendable screens will appear in 2014, and with the folding in 2015. And at the end of last year Samsung has received a patent for a smartphone that can be folded in half due to the flexible section in the center.

When folded, the phone is very reminiscent of the classic “clamshell” from the 2000s or notebook Surface Book, as both sides of the screen do not touch each other.

It is expected that at MWC Koreans show the partners at least two prototypes. One device can be folded like a book, and another to decompose. Presumably, in late February, Samsung will also present a strictly limited number of buyers flagship, the Galaxy S8, however, the official announcement will take place later.
