Samsung has patented a smartphone with a “fully rounded” display

The new solution suggests that the display will go on the back side of the mobile device.

Samsung patents a lot of interesting developments in the field of mobile devices. Information about one of them appeared in the database of the world intellectual property organization (World Intellectual Property Organization, WIPO).

We are talking about a smartphone with a “fully rounded” display. The current flagship devices the South Korean giant screen bent on the side of the hull. The new solution suggests that the display will go on the back side of the mobile device.

Thus, the screen will actually bend 180 degrees. It is noted that such a decision will provide “completely new user experience”. However, it is not entirely clear what advantages will be given to display with the described design.

It is not excluded that Samsung is considering a smartphone whose screen can completely encircle the body. In this case, users will be able to interact with the image in any part of the phone (except for the top and bottom ends).

However, it should be emphasized that while the South Korean company only filed a patent about the proposed solution. On the possible timing of the emergence of devices with “fully rounded” display in the commercial market is not reported.
