Samsung will release the foldable smartphone that can turn into a tablet.
Samsung Electronics will likely release a foldable smartphone in the third quarter of 2017.
The device will have a flexible display with the ability to develop, Ferra reports with reference to sources in South Korea.
When folded, the display will be located on the outer surface and the device can operate as a smartphone, and unfolded — to be used as a 7-inch tablet.
Samsung plans to distribute more than 100 thousand of these folding devices in the third quarter.
The company has already completed development of smartphones with displays inside in the folded state, and in August of 2016 has begun to develop foldable smartphones with external displays that don’t require to deploy the device for use.
In addition, Chinese sources reported that Samsung is currently testing in China foldable smartphone Samsung Galaxy and Galaxy X1 X1 Plus with flexible displays being developed under the project codenamed Project Valley.
