American cable channel The CW announced the launch of a development of a new series about the famous girl-witch. And most interesting is that the project is clearly going very far from the popular Comedy version with Melissa Joan HARTplayed on TV from 1996 to 2003. Initially, the series was based on the eponymous comic book publisher Archie Comics, it will also be the basis for a restart.
The show was called “the Spooky adventures of Sabrina” (“The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina”). Now this is a drama with strong themes of horror, the occult and the dark side of witchcraft. Each episode, accordingly, will not have the comedic timing to 60 minutes. Producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (also responsible for another teleadapter comics of the same publishers, “Riverdale”) promises to show a mixture of “rosemary’s Baby” and “Exorcist” – agree that it is not very similar to the adventures of a young witch, her two aunts and talking cat, to which we are accustomed!
New “Sabrina” took care of the Studio Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. TV, and the release is expected in 2018-19.
