Pacifist appealed to the European court of human rights.
The European court of human rights (ECHR) for the first time received a complaint of the Russian conscript Igor Suvorov. Deprived of his right to refuse military service for reasons of conscience, said the lawyer Alexander Peredruk.
In particular, Suvorov claimed a violation of article 9 (freedom of thought, conscience and religion) and article 6 (right to a fair trial) of the Convention on the protection of human rights. Earlier the young man has failed to overturn his conviction for evasion of military service (part 1 of article 328 of the criminal code) in the Krasnodar regional court.
According to the newspaper, the military first gave Suvorov the right to alternative civil service. But then rescinded it and issued several summonses, which the recruit ignored. Considering the case of deviationist judge Yuri Ermakov during the meetings showered the young man and his counsel the angry remarks, and also gave a personal assessment as such the right of refusal of service. “Can you, sweet something to send to Your Highness in the army? Or what? Not very much You take on yourself? Not too many want?” reads a transcript published later.
Yet Ermakov found it necessary to justify the need for universal conscription. “We have an army powerful enough today to put the cancer the whole world,” said the judge. “If you do not know how to defend themselves, so know that going to shovel shit for the Americans, for NATO, for China”.
The judge added that before the invaders young man will not be able to swing right as in the military.
