Domestic banks will soon begin testing a new unified biometric system, which will allow you to identify people not only by comparing the photograph in the passport with the actual person. Today it became known the timing of the event, and it will happen this year.
Testing of the new system will begin in December of this year, but it will not connect all the banks – the number of testers is severely limited, due to lack of appropriate laws. Amendments to 115-FZ will be introduced in mid-2018, and then a single biometric system will be launched across the country. According to Rostelecom, the development of this project and its implementation in Russian banks will need a total of about 200 million rubles.
In fact, banks will accumulate personal information about us with you, forcing you to prove your identity with photo and voice record. This information will be accumulated in a special database, and it is not known who has access to it, and how easy it is to crack. In the future the system of identification of Bank customers will be included in the ESIA (unified system of identification and authentication), which is actively used to provide public services in electronic form.
