The President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, “strongly condemned the arbitrary detention of citizens of Russia in Chisinau airport”
The Deputy of the State Duma from the liberal democratic party Paul Speravo and the group of Russian artists headed in Transnistria, was denied entry to Moldova.
As informed by the Border police of Moldova, the decision on ban on entry was taken in connection with the fact that Russian citizens do not meet the requirements for entry into the country and are unable to substantiate the purpose of his visit.
The group consisted of Russian artists Dmitry Dunaev, Lydia Muzaleva, Irina Maslova, and hero of the Soviet Union Vladimir Gasoyan. They headed to the Transnistrian region to participate in the events dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the peacekeeping mission on the Dniester.
Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, special presidential envoy for Transnistria Dmitry Rogozin wrote on social networks that he gave “instructions to the Russian Embassy in Chisinau to investigate the situation”.

“See these actions as another provocation aimed at disrupting the recovery process of the Moldovan-Russian relations, which continue to develop successfully”, – he wrote on his page in Facebook.
The President promised to “look into the situation and punish the guilty”.
As reported by the Moldovan foreign Ministry urged the Russian authorities to refrain from unilateral actions in connection with the anniversary of the introduction of peacekeeping forces on the Dniester. The President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, in turn, said it plans to participate in these activities on the territory of the Transnistrian region, as well as to give Russian and Transnistrian military personnel of the state award of Moldova.
The event is scheduled for July 29 in the town of Bender (Transnistria). It is expected that the event will be attended by Dmitry Rogozin, Igor Dodon, the leader of the unrecognized Transnistria Vadim Krasnoselsky.
