An official invitation was sent to the NATO General, but he ignored it.
The defense Ministry did not send the defense Ministry of Ukraine invited to participate in the Sixth Moscow conference on international security, which will be held April 26-27. This was announced by Deputy defense Minister Lieutenant-General Alexander Fomin.
“The invitation to this conference Ukraine we did not fly,” – said Fomin.
However, he noted that in the field of security between the Russian Federation and Ukraine “really, there is a large set of complex issues – primarily in the bilateral relations”.
“Basically, they involve questions of safety on the territory of Ukraine in the border areas. But we are these issues actively discussed at Minsk site, the OSCE, and the UN,” – said Fomin.
He also said that Russia sent an invitation to the NATO leadership, in particular General Peter Paul, who is the Chairman of the military Committee of the Alliance.
“Unfortunately, the confirmation of participation is received. But NATO at the conference will be representative of the liaison mission of NATO in Moscow, Colonel Antonio Sandri,” – said Fomin.
According to him, the defense Ministry was ready to provide him a podium, but the Colonel said it has no plans to act.
