The Pentagon has accused Russia of attempts to interfere in the US elections in 2018
Pentagon chief Jim Mattis stated that Russia tried to interfere in mid-term elections in the US last month, as was the case during the presidential elections in 2016.
According to Mattis, the already tense relations between Moscow and Washington “without a doubt” has deteriorated due to another of Russia’s attempts to interfere in the voting process in the United States.
Russian President Vladimir Putin “once again trying to meddle in our elections last month, and we see further efforts in this direction,” said Mattis. However, he took on an expression muck around, which means unreasonable action without a specific purpose which are undertaken often in a careless or random fashion.
Putin “continues to attempt to undermine the democratic process, which must be protected”, – said the head of the Pentagon.
“We will do everything necessary to protect them,” he added.
Before the midterm elections in the US, Twitter and Facebook has blocked thousands of accounts of the Pro-Russian trolls, and against 14 persons-representatives of the Russian “Troll factory” were charged.
