The next summer Olympic games will be held in 2020.
The authorities of St.-Petersburg is ready to consider making a bid to host the summer Olympics.

On 20 July, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin has made the hosting of the summer Olympics, but the corresponding application, according to him, has not yet been submitted. The head of state stressed that one should speak not only about the holding of certain events, but also about how to use the infrastructure for sports development in the country.
The next summer Olympic games will be held in 2020 from 24 July to 9 August. City-organizer of the Japanese Tokyo.
Russia in its recent history took a single Olympics – the winter Games 2014. They were held in Sochi.
