The Russian military will test a variety of novelties in the city.
Russia sent to Syria on the clearance of ancient Palmyra the next consolidated bomb squad, according to the defense Ministry.
“Personnel, military equipment and property units were rapidly deployed by aircraft of the military transport aircraft from the airfield Chkalovsky air base Hamim. After which the detachment marched on with standard equipment and proceeded to the demining of the city”, – stated in the message.
Only Palmyra has deployed more than 150 engineers and 17 units of special equipment. The squad includes a canine unit with mine detection dogs.
The defense Ministry noted that in Palmira for the first time will be tested in practice, promising models of the search and detection of explosive substances and protection engineers.
