The statement of Stoltenberg in the form of an ultimatum does not help to solve a situation, say in the foreign Ministry.
Moscow believes that the statements of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg that the Alliance stands ready to military measures to resolve the conflict surrounding the Treaty on missiles in such categorical tone inhibit the analysis of the situation. On Friday, January 11, said the foreign Ministry.
“Attempts to talk in an ultimatum tone, talking about “the last chance” for Russia, as it is said Stoltenberg, did not match the assurances that the salvation of the Treaty is for countries of the Alliance priority. On the contrary, such statements impede analysis of the situation on the basis of professional dialogue,” the statement said.
As stressed in the foreign Ministry of Russia, if NATO want to go to the “military” measures, a real contribution would be the elimination of launchers MK-41, deployed to Romania in violation of the INF Treaty and integrated air defense system/missile defense of NATO.
Earlier, Stoltenberg said that NATO is ready to military measures to resolve the conflict surrounding the Treaty on the elimination of intermediate-range and shorter-range. He also recalled that February 2nd is the deadline of the ultimatum to Russia, then the US can break the contract.
