The head of the Council on human rights (HRC) under the President of the Russian Federation Mikhail Fedotov, commenting on published by the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo caricatures about the persecution of gays in Chechnya, said that the right reaction to these cartoons – no response.
“Any caricature need to react, realizing that it is a caricature. The correct reaction to these cartoons is the lack of reaction”, – quotes Fedotov RIA Novosti.
“Moreover, if to talk seriously about the topic of the persecution of the LGBT community in Chechnya, the head of the Chechen Republic in a conversation with me made it clear that he is ready to facilitate a thorough investigation of all reports of alleged crimes. … And caricature is always intended to make the audience smile, so I would be confined to just a smile”, he added.
We will remind, the head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov became the hero of a series of cartoons of the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.
