In Russia, sharply increased the prices of buckwheat — for the week from 15 to 21 June price increased by 0.8 percent, or 405 rubles per ton, reports “Interfax” with reference to the monitoring data of the company “Prozerno”.
In mid-June, the average cost of a ton of buckwheat in Russia amounted to 47 475 rubles, as against 21 376 rubles in June 2019. Thus, the growth year-on-year was 122 percent.
A week earlier, from 8 to 14 June, was recorded a sharp decline of wholesale prices for buckwheat — on 5475 rubles per ton.
The peak growth of prices for buckwheat in Russia took place in March and April, when the introduction of restrictive measures to combat coronavirus was accompanied by a rush of demand for various food products. Since the beginning of March to mid-April price increased by 35 percent. Also there was an increase in the price of rice (25 percent) and wheat (22 percent).
In the week from 15 to 21 June, the price of rice remained stable at around 39 thousand rubles per ton. Wholesale price of millet fell by 400 rubles — to medium-23260 rubles per ton.
