The Secretary is going to Moscow with an ultimatum.
The Secretary of state of the United States Rex Tillerson said that Russia must choose between partnership with America and support of the Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad, Iran and Hezbollah.
“We want to alleviate the suffering of the Syrian people. Russia could become a part of the future and an important role to play. Or Russia can maintain their Alliance with this group that, in our opinion, is not in the interests of Russia in the long term”, – he told reporters.
Tillerson stressed that Russia had failed to fulfil the obligations from 2013, destruction of Syrian chemical weapons, and added that the reason why it happened (lack of seriousness or inability), “don’t matter much to the dead” in Khan Shahana.
The Secretary of state stressed that the US does not see a future for Bashar al-Assad government of Syria but does not consider the remedies.
Tuesday Tillerson will go to Moscow.
We will remind, last week dozens of people were killed in the bombing of the Syrian city of Khan shaykhun in Idlib province. Many of the victims had signs of severe poisoning – people died from suffocation, many lying on the ground motionless.
The Syrian military denied using sarin argue that gas sprayed members of the opposition group “Hayat Tahrir al-sham” associated with “al-Qaeda”. According to the Russian military, the Syrian aircraft attacked a large warehouse of ammunition, where were stored chemical weapons.
