In Russia fighting detachments of the strategic Missile forces conducted a test launch of an Intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) RS-12M “Topol”.

“The purpose of the launch was to test promising combat equipment for Intercontinental ballistic missiles. Training warhead missiles with a given accuracy struck conditional goal at the site “Sary-Shagan”(Republic of Kazakhstan)”, — said the Russian defense Ministry.
It is also noted that during testing failed to obtain experimental data on the parameters of the target environment, generated promising combat equipment of ballistic missiles in the process of overcoming missile defense.
This information plan to use in developing effective means of overcoming air defence to equip the Russian ballistic missiles.
“Topol” — a three-stage solid propellant missile developed by the Moscow Institute of thermal technology. The first flight test of the missile system took place in 1982. In service with the Russian “Topol” was adopted in 1988.
