The document refers to the need for a complete withdrawal of Russian troops.
The OSCE parliamentary Assembly by a majority of votes supported a resolution on the withdrawal of Russian troops from Moldova’s territory. The draft resolution envisages the transformation of the peacekeeping operation in Transnistria into a civil mission under international auspices.
A photocopy of the document was published by the head of the Moldovan delegation to the OSCE PA, Deputy of the ruling Democratic party, Sergiu Sirbu on his page in Facebook on Wednesday, July 11.
The document refers to the need for “the full withdrawal of Russian troops from Transnistria”. According to Sirbu, the initiators of the inclusion in the Declaration of the item on reformatting the peacekeeping mission were Moldova and Romania.
“With the support of the OSCE and the UN, we will be able to solve the tasks. The Assembly understands the necessity of common efforts and joint actions in order to achieve the final withdrawal of Russian troops from Moldova’s territory”, – said the politician.
The document contains over 170 provisions prepared by the main committees of the Assembly which relate to major spectre problems related to counter-terrorism actions, opposition to the propaganda aimed at inciting hatred, digital economy, demographic questions, as well as the settlement of frozen conflicts, particularly in Georgia and Moldova.
