Russia has expelled two Swedish diplomats: diplomats

Russia responded by asking two Swedish diplomats to leave the country.

Russia has expelled two Swedish diplomats from Moscow in the framework of a retaliatory step against Stockholm, who had previously refused to extend the visa of the Russian diplomat.

“Previously, Sweden took the decision that one Russian diplomat would not renew his visa, and then we rejected Russian requests for a diplomatic visa,” – said the representative of the Ministry.

“Russia responded, asking two Swedish diplomats to leave the country,” she added, refusing to give details.

On 14 March it was reported that the Swedish foreign Ministry demanded from the Russian Embassy to one of their employees who was suspected of espionage, voluntarily left the country. After the refusal, the Swedish Ministry summoned the Russian Ambassador.
