After Facebook in Russia want to ban Viber, Watsupр, Google and Telegram.
This was stated by the head of the RF Ministry of communications Nikolay Nikiforov.
To continue its work in Russia, foreign services must comply with the law on personal data localization. That is, to store information about Russians is possible only in the Federation.
We have no prejudice either to Russian or to foreign Internet services. As written in the law, so be it. Services that will not be in Russia to comply with Russian law, to work in Russia will not. Don’t understand the hype around media Telegram. I would also be worried for such international services like WhatsApp, Viber, Google, Facebook. They are all subject to the law, – said Nikolay Nikiforov.
If Viber, Watsupр, Google and Telegram will not follow the law – millions of people in Russia will not be able to use the services.
Pavel Durov, who is the founder of the social network Telegram reported that the FSB on his company made the Protocol “upon failure to provide the information necessary to decode the received, transmitted, delivered and (or) treated in such electronic communications.”
