Russia and Ukraine: what the media don’t trust often

The survey was conducted online in July 2017, the network conducted a survey about what media you trust the Ukrainians to be objective coverage of events in the occupied Donbas. Among the options are Ukraine and Russia.

It turned out that the Ukrainian media are consistently more trusted than the Russian, however, the confidence index of the Ukrainian media does not exceed the average value, according to Kantar TNS Online Track.

Information that is covered in Russian media are not trusted by 82% and the trust only 8% of respondents. The situation with Ukrainian mass media is that their information is not trusted by 41% and the trust – 50% of respondents.

Interestingly, the Eastern region is much less likely to not trust the Russian media (78%), while residents of the Western region don’t trust them relatively often (90%). But Ukrainian media often do not trust in big cities 47% and trust more in Western region (59%).

Note that the survey was conducted online in the month of July. It was attended by men and women aged 18 to 55 years. The survey was attended by people from Crimea and the ATO zone.
