According to the investigation, Ruban was preparing an attempt on the President, heads of power structures and other public figures. Simultaneously, was to blow up a grenade inside the Parliament and with the use of small arms and explosive devices to kill government officials and people’s deputies to be present at the meeting of Parliament.
22 March 2018 after the lifting of immunity in the same case was detained the Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Hope Savchenko.
15 APR 2019 Ruban and Savchenko was released from custody in the Brovarsky gorrayonny court, because at midnight from 15 to 16 April expired the term of detention which has not been renewed. On April 26 it became known that Ruban moved to Warsaw.
