Last Saturday in Cardiff in the final match against Juventus Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice and brought the “real” 12-th victory in the Champions League. The Portuguese became a four-time winner of the main club tournament in the world.
For the first time, Ronaldo won the Champions League in the 2007-2008 season in the “Manchester United”. In Moscow in the final match against “Chelsea” the Portuguese scored in regulation time and in the penalty shootout missed a penalty that did not prevent the “Red devils” to take the title.
Following three wins Ronaldo celebrated already in the “real” (2013/2014, 2015/2016 and 2016-2017). Only one final, Cristiano failed to score a goal scored.
In addition to Ronaldo winning in four finals involved two players – midfielder “Barcelona” Andres Iniesta (2005/06, 2008/09, 2010/11 and 2014/15) and Dutch midfielder Clarence Seedorf, the only player in the history of the Champions League, won the competition with three different clubs (Ajax, real Madrid and AC Milan).
Four-time winners of the Champions League are Xavi hernández (FC Barcelona), Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Gerard Pique (“Manchester United”, “Barcelona”) and Samuel Eto’o (real Madrid, Barcelona), but each of these players have not played in one of the final matches of the European Cup.
