The Patriarch of Constantinople was accused of gross intrusion on the canonical territory of the Moscow Patriarchate.
The appointment of the Ecumenical Patriarchate representatives in Kiev is a gross invasion of the territory of the ROC and will not remain without response, said the head of the Synodal Department for Church and society and the media Vladimir Legoyda.
“The appointment of the Patriarch of Constantinople their representatives-bishops in Ukraine without the consent of the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia and his Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and all Ukraine – there is nothing like an unprecedented gross intrusion on the canonical territory of the Moscow Patriarchate,” he said.
Legoyda also added that such actions of the Ecumenical Patriarchate “cannot remain without a response”, writes “Interfax”.
Earlier, the Ecumenical Patriarchate approved the appointment of their exarchs (of representatives). Constantinople in Kiev will represent Archbishop Daniel Pamphilon from the United States, and Bishop Hilarion of Edmonton (Canada).
As you know, the Council of bishops decided that it could grant autocephaly without the consent of other churches.
