I think fans of the original “Nightmare on elm street”, no matter what, even in spite of common sense, hoping at least once more to see the incomparable Robert Englund in the image of fascinating, funny and terrifying villain Freddy Krueger. Well, okay, maybe not hope, but dreamed about it. Dreaming about what could be another movie with a demon of dreams non-GMO.
However, this year Englund still turned 70 years old, and this cannot be ignored. In honor of the anniversary, we reminisced about other glorious roles of the actor, since he not only played Freddy. However, why the past tense? Robert continues to act: in “Dark world” it will soon be seen in “the Midnight man”. But no more “Nightmare on elm street”.
I’m too old to play another Freddie. Now, if I’m in the fighting scenes, they are minimal because I can’t crunch the joints from each movement and rotation of the head. I have a sore spine. I can still be evil and scary, but now I mostly assign the role of van Helsing, the old doctors and shit. It’s funny that the last time playing Freddy, I winked to the audience.
Of course, we all remember this moment from “Freddy vs Jason”, but who would have thought that the favorite villain so saying goodbye to us?
Well, Englund once again reminded about the fact that finally hung up the glove with knives on the nail, and we are sad about it, because the alternative is still there. Robert himself said, as if Kevin bacon can play Freddy, but believe in it as a little. I think a good cocktail Kruger should consist of these essential elements as a deep seductive voice, interesting movable plastic body is, well, a bloody nose, too! At Jackie Earle Haley in the remake, for example, was only the first.
Anyway, in my opinion, the creators of the new picture will be required to use England in a subordinate role or at least in a cameo. What do you think?
