Road accident in Kazakhstan: nine dead, 27 injured

Eight people in intensive care.

In Kazakhstan, 9 people were killed and 27 were injured in the result of collision of the minibus “Gazelle” with a locomotive on a railway crossing under Zhanaozen in Mangystau region.

All the victims were hospitalized.

“Eight people is in a serious condition, they are in the intensive care unit. Among victims – three children,” – said the Prosecutor’s office. It is noted that the collision of a minibus with a diesel engine came on the eve of the railway crossing the village of Tenge at Zhanaozen. “Gazelle” went to Tenge.

In a press-service of JSC “KTZ – Freight transport” said that the accident occurred on 25 November at 14:20 local time on moving the plot Uzen-Bolashak Mangystau management of rail transportation. The device LC signalling system was working properly. When the locomotive driver saw the tracks the car, he emergency braked. A special Commission of “NC “KTZ” is investigating the causes of the accident.

The fact of the accident is a pre-trial investigation under part 4 of article 345 of the criminal code (violation of safety rules of traffic or operation of vehicles by the persons operating vehicles, entailed death of two or more persons) and part 3 of article 344 of the criminal code (violation of safety rules of movement or operation of railway transport, entailed death of two or more persons)
