The cause of the protests was the reform of social insurance.
The number of victims of protests against the reform of social insurance that is raging in Nicaragua since April this year has exceeded 350 people. This was told by the defenders of the Nicaraguan center for human rights.
“Over the past eight days in the protests were killed 40 people, and 2.1 thousand were injured and 329 stolen. Thus, the total number of victims of the protests reached 351 people. 306 among the dead were civilians, 28 – paramilitary Pro-government groups, 16 police officers and one military,” – said human rights activists.
Earlier it was reported about 323 deaths during the protests in Nicaragua.
Protests in Nicaragua are from 18 APR. The reason for the mass protests was the reform of social insurance. President Daniel Ortega already overturned the reform, however, the protests have not stopped. The opposition demands early elections.
