The Saga of Strange turns in the Saga of the androids, yeah.
Can’t say I’m thrilled about it, but what to do if Director Ridley Scott has long been not rushing from our favorite alien as Michael Fassbender in the role of the synthetic David?.. In the movie “Alien: Covenant” strangers like enough, but Android-Fassbender was as much as two. And in October, Scott already talked that in the new movie series xenomorphs will be given less attention.
Recall his words:
I think that the evolution of the Alien is almost complete. But what I’m trying to do has already outdone yourself and moved to another story, which revolves around Artificial Intelligence. It is a world in which AI could be the leader, if he were on a new planet. We are actually pretty big plans for the future.
Two months later, Scott has given a new interview in which he developed his idea:
I think we need to gradually move away from “Them.” People say, “You need more of others, you need jumping on face, need more exploding chest”, so I do a lot of this was placed in a “Covenant” and it was good. But I think if you re-do this, then you need to start looking for another solution that will be interesting. I believe that artificial intelligence is now becoming much more dangerous and, consequently, more interesting in this regard.
Sir Ridley, how would you hint at… well, you already shot one film with a minimum of alien and AI, it was called “Prometheus” and “Alien: Testament” was a kind of correction of mistakes of this film.
However, it is unlikely Scott hears our cries. It, apparently, very impressed with the AI experiment conducted in Facebook:
Two AI communicate with each other. And they invented the fucking language! And people are unable to decipher the language, so they had to disable the AI. What they talked about in which direction was this conversation? They could do something, what we still do not even know.
Catch, right?.. All right, old man Scott is afraid of AI. And, in his opinion, we all need to fear AI more than the aliens. That’s just Strange as the image was never just an alien, isn’t it? It’s always been more like any great work of art.
