Why do we believe in conspiracy theories? Despite their apparent inconsistency, a lot of people believe in the world automecanica conspiracies, secret psychotronic weapons on satellites, and the like charms. That is understandable, of course, that it is human nature to look for connections between events, and regularly find them where there is actually no connection, but why are conspiracy theories so tenacious? Here suggest themselves two answers – either here so people are arranged or actually… actually people are just designed that way, but the creators of “The Conspiracy” has decided to consider both options (and to tickle nerves, following the second theory).
Decided, and produced a pseudo-documentaryfound footage about the world conspiracy. The plot is simple as three roubles – heroes, a couple of novice filmmakers, filming interviews with all sorts of conspiracy theorists of varying degrees of obsession. One of their interlocutors disappears. The characters begin to search for him and stumble upon a real conspiracy is deplorable, of course, results. All the clichés of the genre of conspiracy fiction there – and a secret society of an unusual origin, which controls all aspects of society, and surveillance of the heroes at night, and mysterious rituals – direct full set. Even a little sad that of the many conspiracy theories the authors have chosen as the “working” relatively sane – there is not enough healthy psychosis, secret bases in Antarctica, aliens, and Yog-Sotot locked up under the Pentagon.
In principle, if the genre you are familiar, then nothing new will not see here. Hackneyed ideas, unimpressive actors and podnatorevshy the manner of shooting. A few good scenes is the place to be, including the ending, but in the sense of novelty – previously released “Banshee Chapter” on the order more interesting (and filmed better. And played better. And generally better). If you are not familiar with the genre, then “The Conspiracy” you probably will appreciate, because it implements all those old ideas enough quality, the actors are still there and worse, and the cinematography… well, excuse me, style is.
Stands out “The Conspiracy” is not so much his own story as “pseudo” part of showing the viewer how a reasonable explanation of all sorts of conspiracy theories in General and this in particular (with a hint that actually it’s much worse), and conspiracy subculture (or if you prefer, underground) in all its glory. And those above mentioned questions of why we believe it? Why so hard to believe and no matter what? – heard behind-the-scenes mockumentary very clearly, and not to ask them after viewing difficult. Ultimately, these questions and be in the movie most interesting.
To evaluate “The Conspiracy” is difficult. Technically – in terms of directing, script, acting and other things – the film is mediocre. The viewer not supply a weakness for conspiracy fiction that will leave you completely indifferent. On the other hand, stories about a global conspiracy is generally good, and their not that very many do (I wonder why?). And questions The Conspiracy ask really interesting – what the authors seems to be wanted.
