Maltese police have detained eight suspects in the murder of journalist Daphne Caruana Galicia.
This was announced by Prime Minister Joseph Muscat.
According to Muscat, the arrest was made this morning, December 4, in a number of areas, including Mars, Zebbug and Bugibba.
All the suspects are citizens of Malta, some of them are already known to the police.
It is reported that the police have 48 hours for questioning suspects and bringing them to justice.
Recall, October 16, in Malta in a car bomb explosion killed a journalist Daphne Caruana Galicia, which investigated corruption offences in the framework of the project Panama Papers and was accused of corruption by the Maltese Prime Minister.
