Perfect place for introverts.
Even the most desperate workaholic sometimes you want to escape the city bustle and plunge into a relaxing vacation somewhere away from people and from everyday stress. Fortunately, in the world there are really a lot of remote communities, affecting its beauty. And most interestingly: despite its uniqueness, still almost no tourists.
1. Village Gasadalur, Faroe Islands, Denmark
The Faroe Islands themselves are quite distant from the rest of the world, but as if that wasn’t enough, on ostrovah is a tiny village where lived until 2002 only 16 people. At the time to get to this village it was very difficult and very very time consuming. In 2004 was built a special tunnel to facilitate the movement of people from the village, and since then it began to appear rare tourists, and it even moved a few people, so the exact number of people in this country today is unknown, but it is unlikely that much more than in 2002. However, the beauty of this place is so striking that at least once in life, but here it is really worth a visit.
2. Aogashima, Japan, Philippine sea
Aogashima island belongs to Japan, and the only tourists who come there, it is usually Tokyo. But, admittedly, all of these people – a very hardy man, indeed the whole island is a crater of an active volcano. What to say about the residents of the village. Only on the island of about 200 inhabitants, and the only way to reach or leave the island is the pier. There is a school, kindergarten, Department store – in short, everything you need for a normal life. And yet, incredibly beautiful nature, which is similar to fantastic scenery for movies.
3. Monemvasia, Greece
“Monemvasia” can be translated from Greek as “single sign-on.” This name due to the curious location of this settlement. The fact that it is in the castle, the castle on top of a cliff, and a rock in the sea. Today the island is connected by bridge to the mainland (the bridge was built recently in 1971), but life on the island equipped as it was many years ago, when people could only get elected and only those who knew that there, behind the rocks, do someone lives. 4. Isortoq, Greenland
Isortoq fit only, perhaps, for the desperate travelers and definitely not suitable for vegetarians. 5. Monastery Potgul, India
Monastery Potgul is located in the North of India, and while he isn’t surrounded by water, to find him still uneasy. In Derevnaya Undredal lives of about 100 people and 500 goats, so it’s no surprise that the main occupation of the locals is farming. Here do a wonderful goat cheese which is famous all over Norway, and even goat sausage. The village is located inside of the Aurlandsfjord, has access to the sea and looks like a real fairy tale on earth.
7. Furore, Italy
Italy has its own village, hidden in a fjord of furore. The whole village is a small fishing lodges, seems to cling to the rock. Formerly it was quite difficult to get to, now here there is a road and a 30-metre bridge, which became the center for the annual championship in diving. It may not be the best place if you want to be away from people – now the mayor of furore actively contributes to attracting tourists to this village, but on the other hand, it is still very beautiful, warm and cozy place where you can relax lying on the Golden sand and enjoying the unique landscape.
8. The Cliff Of Bandiagara, Mali
Bandiagara is located on the North-West of Africa in a fairly remote place. Here lives the Dogon tribe, and they had built all these buildings here from the only available building material – clay. Despite the apparent fragility, these buildings can withstand loads and successfully perform its function is and homes, and altars, and even grain silos.
9. Sapa, Vietnam

11. Rougon, France
Rougon located in Provence and the Alps. Here lives only 78 people, they have their own Church, school. However, there are no streets – it’s just not necessary. Despite the fact that the village is very tiny, here still sometimes tourists come mainly for the stunning view around.
12. Coober Pedi, Australia
For those travellers who want to completely escape from other people – at least temporarily – suitable Coober Pedi. This city is hiding from the unbearable heat under the ground. Standard housing in Coober Pedi looks like a house with three bedrooms, kitchen, living room, bathroom – all of it dug in the ground. The town is home to just over a thousand inhabitants, but during summer months, when the heat nakalyaet rocks and sand almost to the red, people prefer to wait out the daylight at home, so settlement looks pretty deserted.
13. Monsanto, Portugal
To live in a house where the roof order of magnitude heavier than the home is not for the faint of heart. But it looks like the village of Monsanto, in which locals have adapted their homes to the local landscape. Now Monsanto is called “the most Portuguese of all villages in Portugal,” although actually this kind is not found anywhere else – this area is in all respects unique. 14. The floating Islands of Uros, Bolivia and Peru

However, to relax from the Madding crowd, you can go to places where animals much more than humans – this therapy also provides an excellent effect to restore emotional balance. However, ordinary travelers such settlements would seem entertaining.
