The visit was made possible thanks to the support of the red cross.
To the five prisoners Ukrainian soldiers went to the occupied Lugansk relatives. The visit is planned to last for a day or two and was made possible by the Minsk agreements.
This broadcast channel “112 Ukraine” said Advisor to the head of the SBU Yuriy Tandit.
“We’re talking about our five hostages. To him went home. They are accompanied by volunteers. This became possible due to the Minsk agreements and support the red cross,” he said.
Tandit said that the intelligence agencies of Ukraine can’t cross the line of contact to accompany the relatives of prisoners, however, the Ukrainian side received a verbal security assurances from representatives ORDO.
According to him, the relatives must transfer the captives, humanitarian aid and letters. “If possible, to meet”, – he added.
Tandit said that the prisoners in question are from the militants more than a year. “We hope for good news… this visit which took place today in Lugansk, will give us a certain prospect for the release of hostages”, – he noted, adding that the Ukrainian side is ready to compromise on the issue of exchange of prisoners.
