Rada dismissed Yegor Sobolev as head of the anti-corruption Committee

The Verkhovna Rada at its meeting on Thursday voted in favor of the withdrawal of opposition leader Yegor Sobolev as head of the anti-corruption Committee.

For this decision voted 256 deputies.

Sobolev, speaking in Parliament, said that he is fired in connection with the adoption of laws that threaten the integrity of the first persons of the state.

“The reason for my dismissal is very simple and I am very proud of it. The reason for my dismissal is that we have adopted laws began, perhaps for the first time in the history of Ukraine to work for us. The deputies began to fill in the electronic Declaration. Beginning to work legislation about the anti-corruption Bureau, in respect of not one Deputy began an investigation. I would say more, our legislation leads to the fact that the leadership of the state, the President, the leaders of key political forces no longer feel untouchable, no longer feel above the law. This is the main reason of my dismissal,” – said the Deputy.

Recall, December 6, representatives of the BPP, NF and “opposition bloc” in the Verkhovna Rada Committee on preventing and combating corruption has achieved recognition of the unsatisfactory work of the head of the Committee, representative of the “Samopomich” Yegor Sobolev and recommended that Parliament should remove him from this post.

Anti-corruption Committee is one of the main parliamentary committees, it checks for the bills, if there’s a corruption component.

Sobolev was one of the organizers of the protest at the Verkhovna Rada, which lasts from October 17.
