Has set up a Committee.
The government of Qatar announced the formation of the Committee for damages that were caused by the blockade of four Arab countries. This was stated by the Prosecutor of Qatar, Ali al Marri.
According to the Prosecutor, the Committee will consider applications of private companies, government agencies and individuals. At the same time, Murray did not specify the details, adding that the body will use both internal and international mechanisms to claim compensation, and hiring foreign law firms to claims.
“We have people that suffered losses, businesses that have suffered losses, banks that suffered losses due to the embargo. And those who have caused damages should pay them compensation,” said the Qatari Prosecutor.
Part of the newly formed Committee include the Minister of justice of Qatar and Minister of foreign Affairs of the country.
Earlier, some Arab countries (including Bahrain, Egypt, UAE and Saudi Arabia) broke off diplomatic relations with Qatar. They accused Doha of supporting terrorism. Officials of Qatar called on Arab countries to dialogue, stating that they would not meet the mirror. The blockade of Qatar, has led to difficulties in the economy.
Qatar has repeatedly denied the accusations and stated that he would not fulfil the requirements , because they violate its sovereignty.
