Putin will hold a meeting with representatives of Siemens

The meeting will be held in the Russian city of Sochi on October 12.

Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting with representatives of business circles of Germany.

This was stated by Russian presidential aide on foreign policy Yuri Ushakov.

The meeting will be held in the Russian city of Sochi on October 12. It is expected, will be attended by two dozen German companies active on the Russian market, among them Siemens, Metro, Wintershall, Linde, Knauf and others.

The initiator of the meeting was organized by the Eastern Committee of German economy – an institution established in 1952 and brings together the Association of German enterprises.

In July this year, Siemens was involved in a serious export scandal involving the supply of Russian turbines of the German company intended to Taman TES in annexed Crimea. In this regard, the group has begun the procedure of rupture of licensing agreements with Russian companies in the field of supply of equipment for power plants and has announced its intention to suspend the supply of power equipment to the Russian state-owned companies.

Despite this, October 4 at Siemens has declared its readiness to take part in further modernization of power plants in Russia. Later it became known about plans of the German company to send Russian gas turbines for mounting on belonging “to Gazprom” the Grozny thermal power plant.
