President Vladimir Putin proposed to his U.S. counterpart Donald Trump will buy Russia’s hypersonic shock complexes, but he said that the United States is working on creating such weapons. This was announced by Putin himself, speaking at the plenary session of the Eastern economic forum.

According to the Russian President, such a deal could become part of the new parity in strategic offensive weapons, therefore, discussed with the “American partners” at the G20 summit in Osaka in June 2019.

“We met with our American partners the last time in Osaka, and also held a question of how it is possible to read our new modern weapons, including hypersonic strike missile systems, in common agreement, bearing in mind that so far no country in the world, including the United States, no such weapons”, — quotes Putin “Interfax”.

According to the President of the Russian Federation, a proposal to buy the latest Russian weaponry and “therefore all balance”, trump said no.

“They say they will soon produce. Well, probably soon will. But why spend the money when we already spent with them to get something not to the detriment of our security,” — said the President.

He stressed that Moscow is ready for dialogue with Washington on the issue of classification of hypersonic weapons in the negotiations on the start Treaty. But while the “clear answer” from Washington is not.

The Agency reminds that the effect of a decade of the start-3 Treaty between Russia and the United States expires in 2021. The US has repeatedly expressed its readiness to discuss with Russia the issue of extending the start-3, but in August, Advisor to Donald trump on homeland security John Bolton stated that the contract probably will not be renewed.
