Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the liberalization of criminal penalties for economic crimes will continue.
“My position is that these articles need to be liberalized. For economic crimes the person to jail, to choose as a preventive measure of detention… There are other shapes: house arrest, home arrest and so on”, — quotes words of the head of the state RIA Novosti.
Meanwhile, Putin urged the head of the company “Dobroflot” who raised this topic, agree that in business a lot of violations, and “the state should protect the interests of society as a whole.”
The Russian President stressed that in this situation it is necessary to find a balance between the public interests and the interests of individuals or groups.
“I’m the Prosecutor General’s office talked about it, talked to the President of the Supreme court – we have already adopted a set of measures relating to the liberalization, we will move in this direction”, – Putin said.
The theme of pressure on business has been raised many times by the head of state. In the February address to the Federal Assembly, he urged “to get rid of everything that limits the freedom and initiative of entrepreneurship”, stressing that “good business should not go under the article”.
At the same time Putin proposed to update the legal framework and from 1 January 2021 to terminate all existing regulations in the field of control and supervision of the business.
