The Russian President held a meeting with Prime Minister of Bavaria.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia is expected to visit German Chancellor Angela Merkel on may 2.
“Please pass on my best wishes to Federal Chancellor. We are waiting for a visit, Mrs. Merkel, on may 2,” the Russian leader said at a meeting with Prime Minister of Bavaria Horst Seehofer.
Seehofer in turn, passed Putin greetings from Merkel. “She repeatedly reminded me that I forgot to do that and she said that in early may wants to visit you,” said the Bavarian Prime Minister.
Earlier this week, a meeting of Merkel and trump was postponed because of bad weather. It is planned that the leaders of Germany and the United States on Friday, March 17, to discuss in particular the situation in Ukraine.
Negotiations with Donald trump is regarded as one of the biggest challenges for Angela Merkel, as the two leaders have different views, particularly on issues of migration and free trade.
Note that the talks with Putin is also likely to be a challenge for Merkel, who has repeatedly criticized Russian aggression against Ukraine.
