The representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian sub-group stressed that the issue of releasing Ukrainian hostages “is paused”.
The President of the aggressor country of Russia Vladimir Putin is not going to release the hostages and political prisoners before the elections in Ukraine. This was stated by the representative of Ukraine in the humanitarian sub-group Irina Gerashchenko.
“We are being held hostage, our military, political prisoners are important to us, and Putin is blackmailing is not going to give before the election. Wants to, you know, to negotiate that with Ukraine. And it is very important that the Minsk agreements are tied to the sanctions,” – said Gerashchenko.
Answering the question, what is happening now with the process of liberation of the Ukrainian hostages, Gerashchenko said, “He’s on hiatus is almost a year. Who is doing the pause the Russians. They are constantly (in Minsk – ed.) take the attitude “we are not there, that is your civil war.”
According to her, the pseudo-elections in occupied Donbas is one of the elements of the tactics of the Russian Federation, “as the pause put the entire Minsk process.”
“Not only the Minsk process, the whole peace process,” – said Gerashchenko.
