Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he supports the introduction of UN peacekeepers to the Donbass.
According to him, the presence of UN peacekeepers in the Donbass “would benefit”.
“The presence of peacekeepers, even you can’t tell the peacekeepers, and those people who provide security of the OSCE mission, I believe it is appropriate and don’t see anything wrong. On the contrary, I believe that it would benefit”, – said Putin.
According to the Russian President, we can talk “only about the function of ensuring the safety of OSCE staff”.
“Second, these forces must be in this regard, the demarcation line and any other areas. Third – the solution of this issue should take place not only after the breeding of the parties and the withdrawal of heavy equipment, and it can’t be solved without direct contact with representatives of the self-proclaimed republics “DNR” and “LNR”, – said Putin.
He also instructed the Russian foreign Ministry to submit an appropriate draft resolution to the UNSC.
