The President of Russia Vladimir Putin hopes that the authorities the economy will overcome the consequences of the pandemic coronavirus with minimal losses. On Sunday, June 28, RIA Novosti reported.
Putin recalled the situation in the 1990-ies, when people for months have not been paid for — no loans to repay the money was impossible. While Russia was sending humanitarian aid as the “poorest country in the world that hunger is not dead,” said the President.
Since then, according to Putin, the country’s GDP has doubled.
Earlier, on June 24, it was reported that, according to the report World Economic Outlook the International monetary Fund, in 2020 Russia’s GDP will fall by 6.6 percent because of the epidemic of the coronavirus. The main reason of negative trends in the Russian economy called pandemic triggered by the collapse of oil prices. A few months ago, the organization predicted the fall of Russia’s economy only 5.5 per cent this year.
