Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in China on an official state visit on Friday.
This is the third visit of Putin to China in just over a year since Beijing and Moscow want to create a “special relationship”.
Warmer ties between the two countries were widely disseminated in Russian and Chinese state media in recent months.
Last week Chinese state television, Putin spoke about the President XI Jinping.
Maria Repnikova, associate Professor of global communication at Georgia State University, told CNN that the two countries undoubtedly become closer as a result of “global propaganda”.
“Both countries are using their relationship to show that the world has an alternative to American hegemony, and they did this even before coming to power of trump,” she said.
“This convergence is designed for a global audience and not just to Russian or Chinese spectators”.
