Putin chose a formal style of communication.
The President of France Emmanuel macron, addressed to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to “you” and offered to “find a solution” in Ukraine.

Thanks also to you and your delegation for the fact that you have decided to take here in St. Petersburg.” He recalled that a year has passed after the start of an intensive exchange “at our level” between France and Russia at Versailles. “A year has passed, and I decided last fall to take you up on your offer to come to St. Petersburg, today I am very happy”, he added.
“Beyond our bilateral relations, I think today the time has come when we, two countries that have a special status because we are permanent members of the UN Security Council, because we have very strong and deep historical ties, we have very strong ties in the sphere of international policy, I believe that we can find solutions and work together on all fronts, be it the Ukraine, middle East, Iran, Syria, whether, as we imagine, multilateral approach to international politics,” said macron.
