Now the distribution of energy on the territory of Ukraine can be viewed online.
In Ukraine presented an online map that helps to understand, through whose hands comes the electricity to the entrance of the house, the path passes gas before to get to a gas stove, as the fuel gets to the gas stations and more.
The authors online map decided to collect on the same platform the maximum amount of data on all sectors of the fuel and energy complex, reports the Economic Truth.
According to the map developers, experts of the analytical center DiXi Group, it should clearly show what information is available in the energy sector, and the disclosure of which still need work.
The maps are divided into four areas: electricity, heat, gas and petroleum products. The data will be updated regularly.
Using the map you can find out through whose hands passes the electricity to the entrance of the house, the path passes the gas to contact the gas stove, what is the distance the heat passes to heat the batteries in the room and how the fuel gets to the gas station. The data will be updated regularly.
Components of the cards include four levels of information. The first is introductory, contains General information; the second base of the collected data; level three – base regarding the topic of investigation, and the latest – the “black boxes” (the fuel and energy complex, which contain the largest number of shadow schemes or hidden data).
The developers plan to regularly update the map with new journalistic investigation, expert opinions and communication with the audience.
“For journalists, this information may be important to see the connection between different companies, between different players during a training investigation,” – said the President of the DiXi Group Pavlenko.
The developers have also added to the map database for investigative journalism over the last 5 years.
“For consumers this is also an opportunity to understand how do is formed one or the other energy products which they consume. Who is involved, how the price is formed, and try to be more professional in their communications with energy companies, ” she adds.
The last section of the card – the “black boxes”. So map authors name the situation, or sphere of energy, where information is missing, it is not in the public domain, and it is impossible to understand what this area is.
For example, in the extraction of gas there are many issues concerning transparency in attracting investors. “We first these” black boxes “identified, we have described them, and our work also aims to open them. We discover through cooperation with journalists for investigations and cooperation with government agencies, ” added Nicovich.
The developers note that the lion’s share of their time is spent on data preparation.

“A few years ago, most of the data was generally impossible to get. Everything except what concerns the amount of the tariff, was considered commercial information and often we were refused ” – she said.

He noted that under the maps wanted to create a calculator that would show how the price of electricity from the consumer is shared by all segments: how much is subsidized by the oligarchs, “energy” and others.
