Profit from mobile apps grew by 40%

Revenue from mobile apps in the world surged by 40% in 2016.

The number of downloads of mobile applications in the world increased by 15% in 2016, revenue in the segment jumped by 40%.

This is the website of the Chinese TV channel CCTV, citing research firm NewZoo.

Almost a third of global revenue from applications received in China with $12 billion, writes Interfax-Ukraine. Chinese users brought application developers on the iOS platform, 40% of the revenue ($5 billion), sales of apps for Android amounted to $7 billion.

As noted, a Chinese user uses an average of 40 applications at least once a month is much more than the world average. The number of Internet users in China in 2015 reached 668 million people, and 90% of them go online from their mobile devices.
