Price hikes on LPG in the GPU made an important statement

The General Prosecutor of Ukraine (GPU) has not opened criminal proceedings on the fact of increase in prices of liquefied petroleum gas, as described in the response of GPU to inquiry “project Marlin”.

The Department stated that “to provide the requested information to the violations, which increased the prices of liquefied gas, in order of the law “On access to public information” can not”.

The response of the Channel for the same query stated that consideration of the issues in the pricing of liquefied natural gas is not within the competence of the Ministry. The Deputy chief of Department of protection of economy of the National police of Ukraine Igor Zvezdin advised to apply to the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine.

Since mid-August at filling stations in Ukraine has become more expensive liquefied gas. Prices increased on average by 5 UAH per liter.

The fuel market expert Sergiy Kuyun said that the liquefied gas market in Ukraine is experiencing “growing pains” and the price at the pump has increased due to its dependence on Russia and the huge number of illegal traders.

29 Aug Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman called the situation on the gas market “sabotage against Ukraine.”

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that he had instructed the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine and the GPU to check gas suppliers.

According to the portal Enkorr, 28-29 September, retail prices for liquefied gas in the national average decreased to 13.60 UAH/liter.
