Prepare: scientists promise a meeting with aliens in the near future

According to British astronomer Chris Impey, the search for life beyond Earth will bring results in a short time.

Impey said that less than two decades, scientists will find extraterrestrial life, but it can be not like we had hoped.

“I put on the detection of microbial life within 10 or 15 years, and not reasonable”, – shared his predictions astronomer.

Today, mankind has no shortage of those looking for life beyond Earth. Add to that the huge size of the Universe, which is estimated at trillions of galaxies, the laws of probability we should have detected some kind of extraterrestrial life. Nevertheless, we have still no evidence that we are not alone in the Universe.

However, according to this scientist the hunt for life beyond Earth may soon bring results. Impey expressed their thoughts about where to focus the search for extraterrestrial life forms. First is our own “house” – our own Solar system.

According to the scientist, life could exist on Mars, but probably below the surface, making it harder to detect. Therefore, according to IMPA more likely to find signs of life on the red planet.

Other planets in our Solar system could also potentially save lives. Special attention, he offers to pay for Europe – a moon of Jupiter, the surface consists of ice. Under it may be the water of the ocean, where there may be microscopic life.

The scientist believes that the future of the mission to the satellite, can provide useful, if not absolutely convincing results.

Of course, our Solar system is only one very small corner of the vast universe. In order to narrow the scope of our search, IMPA offers a focus on the already detected exoplanets. However, instead of focusing on the surface of the planet, according to the scientist, to investigate their atmosphere.

If IMPA rights, and humanity in just a few decades from a meeting with extraterrestrial life – no matter whether it’s the discovery of microbial life on Mars, Europa, or on one of the thousands of exoplanets, it will be a huge step.

This would mean that the Earth is not unique. People could use knowledge about extraterrestrial microbial life to limit “hunting” for other, more complex organisms.

After receiving valuable information about how extraterrestrial organisms are able to survive in a world that is very different from ours, mankind would be easier to learn the other planet.

Even the identification of former microbial life would be useful, as it gave us the knowledge of b, which could prevent the attainment of the same fate of humanity.
