Powerful hurricane “Irma” reached Florida

The hurricane has already passed over Cuba, causing damage to Havana, the coastal cities and resorts.

The hurricane has already passed over Cuba, its epicenter was 200 kilometers from Havana, nevertheless the gusts of wind reached speeds of 200 kilometers per hour.

According to Reuters, the hurricane caused severe damage to the Cuban capital Havana, the coastal resorts and cities.

In Havana partially stopped the supply of water and electricity, several blocks were flooded, of the Central districts of the city, adjacent to the port, were evacuated about 10 thousand people.

The head of the energy company Florida Power & Light Eric Silagy said that American energy industry “prepared for the worst.”

Without electricity can stay about nine million people, because the two nuclear power plant suspended due to an approaching hurricane Irma.
